To see a list of events at your favorite Borders store, click on the Store Locator link from any page. Enter your ZIP code or city and state to see a list of stores. Click on the store name to see more information about that store. A list of upcoming store events will appear on the page. To see event details, including a description time, click on the event name.

Discount Policy

Our stores offer discounts year-round on selected book, music, and movie titles ranging from new releases to bestsellers to the classics. Visit your favorite Borders to find a great deal on something new or something to build your library.

Outlined below are several specialized discount programs we offer to provide value to our customers. Customers outside the U.S., please visit your local store for information on discount options available at your location. We're sorry, but these discounts do not apply to orders placed online.

Please note: If more than one discount is applicable to a title, the higher of the two discounts will be applied. We do not combine discounts. Discounts do not apply to titles marked as "NET," periodicals, gift cards, sidelines, cafe items, and non-stock special orders.

Quantity Discounts
All customers are eligible for quantity discounts on the purchase of 10 or more copies of the same item (including bargain books) in one purchase. These discounts are:
10% off for 10-19 copies of a single paperback title
15% off for 10-19 copies of a single hardcover title
15% off for 20-29 copies of a single title
20% off for 30 or more copies of a single title

Educator Discount
If you are a teacher, librarian, or homeschooler for students in preschool through 12th grade and can show current proof of employment (an employee ID, pay stub, or applicable state certification letter), you are eligible for the 20% Educator Discount Card. Homeschoolers in states without certification should contact a manager at the store for instructions on how to document your status as a homeschooler. The 20% discount will be applied to the list price of books and music purchased in a Borders store for use in the classroom or for classroom preparation. DVDs, electronics, video games, previous and online purchases, gift cards, periodicals, non-stock special orders, and shipping are excluded. This discount may not be combined with other coupons, discounts, or in-store promotions and applies to the retail price only. Borders Rewards purchases are not eligible.

We're sorry, but student teachers, substitute teachers, university teachers, and teachers of adult education classes do not currently qualify for the discount.

Business and Educator Services Discount
Eligible merchandise presented for return, including sale or marked-down items, must be accompanied by the original Borders Express or Borders store receipt. Returns must be completed within 30 days of purchase. The purchase price will be refunded in the medium of purchase (cash, credit card, or gift card). Items purchased by check may be returned for cash after 10 business days.

Borders returns policy

Returns of merchandise purchased from a Borders, Borders Express or Waldenbooks retail store will be permitted only if presented in saleable condition accompanied by the original sales receipt or Borders gift receipt within the time periods specified below. Returns accompanied by the original sales receipt must be made within 30 days of purchase and the purchase price will be refunded in the same form as the original purchase. Returns accompanied by the original Borders gift receipt must be made within 60 days of purchase and the purchase price will be refunded in the form of a return gift card.

Exchanges of opened audio books, music, videos, video games, software and electronics will be permitted subject to the same time periods and receipt requirements as above and can be made for the same item only.

Periodicals, newspapers, comic books, food and drink, digital downloads, gift cards, return gift cards, items marked "non-returnable," "final sale" or the like and out-of-print, collectible or pre-owned items cannot be returned or exchanged.

Returns and exchanges to a Borders, Borders Express or Waldenbooks retail store of merchandise purchased from Borders.com may be permitted in certain circumstances.
